Cursor Minor - Hieroglyph

about

This tune actually came from a 10 minute melodic epic written on the guitar, which was kind of prog rock, then I just chopped a single loop from it that seemed to have a bit of an iconic but mysterious feel to it. The title "hieroglyph" popped out after a trip to the Egyptian relics in the Berlin Neues Museum, they certainly knew how to get an iconic but mysterious feel.

From there it was a small matter of whacking an electro beat on it and sweeping and scraping through a bit of distortion, quick to make, not too many edits, keeping the production quite old school, basic and "linear".

Honoured to be on the EE comp: keep this truly excellent show going!
Cursor

____

Combining pure dancefloor anthems, dirty twisted breaks, off the wall experimentation and pop sensibilities, all with a good dose of social commentary, Cursor Miner aka Robert Tubb has been likened as what would happen if Beck and Bowie combined with Kraftwerk and Autechre in the middle of an early nineties illegal rave.
